Why I love Internet Marketing

I could wrap this post up in one sentence, but that wouldn’t make for very interesting reading…

In light of the time lapse between my last post and this one and in the vein of  “full disclosure”….

Spondylolisthesis

I have spondylolisthesis (spon·dy·lo·lis·the·sis) – Spondylolisthesis occurs when one vertebra slips forward in relation to an adjacent vertebra, usually in the lowest lumbar vertebral segment (L5). As a result, the L5 vertebral body slips forward on the S1 vertebral body. This also commonly occurs at the L4 and L5 levels. Spondylolisthesis is almost never due to trauma; however, it is usually discovered after a trauma or prolonged episode of back pain.

Mine is between L4 and L5, the last 2 lumbar vertebrae.

This affects my ability to sit, stand, or even lie down for periods of time. As long as I have the option to move on to a different position when one “bothers” me, I can get through the day. When I can’t, pressure on nerves will cause numbness, tingling, sharp pains, burning, eventually causing muscle spasms (which pull things out of alignment more adding to the problem) and/or pain that literally shuts me down.

So naturally this condition makes it nearly impossible to find employment at most places. Who will let me lay down when I’ve been on my feet, or have been sitting too long?

I will of course!

Internet Marketing is ideal for my condition as I set my own hours. Today I was hurting and got out of bed at 3am, I worked on this blog post. At some point I will have to lay down to get pressure off my back, and I will be able to do that, without fear of being fired.

Internet Marketing is ideal for stay-at-home-moms, a second income, retired folks, etc. It lets one “learn the ropes” and grow their business without giving up their main source of income first.

The drawback? YOU are RESPONSIBLE! There is no guarantee of a paycheck. No union or government agency to insure you get a certain minimum of anything. YOU and ONLY YOU are responsible for the success or failure of your business. This is enough to scare away many people.
