Emotions Can Make Sales
by Toolman on May.31, 2009, under Free Tools, Tips
Purchase a particular brand of cereal and your children will think you’re the best parent ever. Use a specific shaving product and you’ll exude sex appeal. Shop at a certain store and you’ll enjoy the lifestyle of your dreams. Logic dictates that these things simply are not so, but marketing campaigns that work are built around these concepts. People buy into them and prove it with their expenditures of choice all the time.
Why is it that these marketing campaigns work even for average products when more reasonable, straightforward and traditional methods might fall short?
The simple fact of the matter is that marketing campaigns that appeal to people on an emotional, or subconscious, level can have a huge impact. When they are successful, logic may tell consumers one thing, but their emotions will drive them forward to act any way.
People are simply wired to respond to certain cues. When the triggers for these cues are tripped through marketing campaigns or other efforts, people will act.
The secrets of marketing successfully in this manner are not necessarily easy to learn. If they were, every product out there would be a top seller. When the right lessons are studied, however, marketing campaigns can bowl over the competition thanks to the power of emotional appeals.

Newbie Basics
by Toolman on May.27, 2009, under Tips
New people are coming online every day, and many are looking for ways of supplementing their income and starting an online business. With that in mind I will be posting some tips for the beginner. Newbies, as they are so affectionately referred to…
Newbies are at a disadvantage, and they are also easy prey for the “ethically challenged” marketer. So the VERY FIRST TIP is: DO YOUR RESEARCH!
Newbie Basics
We will begin this marketing course with the basics. This will be very basic for most, but will get the newbie off to a good start. For those with experience, just bear with us through this initial start and there will be some meat later in this course that will benefit almost any marketer in some way.
Copy and Paste Training
This in itself will save you many keystrokes and typos. I can’t count the times I have seen an ad with typos in the url, which in effect makes it totally useless. My suggestion is to make a text file in notepad, wordpad, etc with all the URLs, email addresses, key words, one line promo text, ads, etc that you will be promoting. Then when you submit an ad or link, copy from your text file and paste where needed.
When you are able, click your link to test, just to be sure.
To “copy (or cut) & paste”, position your cursor at the beginning of the text you want to copy (or cut), hold down the left button on your mouse, drag the cursor over the text you wish to copy releasing the button when you reach the end of the text you wish to select. The text should highlight in blue.
Now ‘right click’ ON the BLUE, and click on “copy” from the drop down menu box. Go to the location where you wish to paste the information to. Place the cursor in the appropriate location, right click on the cursor, then click on “paste” in the drop down menu. BE SURE to click on ‘submit’ or ‘save’, otherwise the paste is not likely to ‘save’ were you have placed it.

Are You Ready To Change Your Marketing Approach?
by Toolman on May.26, 2009, under Tips
Textbook marketing approaches can go a long way toward building product sales and images. They can be just good enough to get noticed, but they might not produce the results you’re after. If you’re ready to go beyond what you learned in school or even by trial and error, there is an area of study worth paying attention to.
That area of study?
The real secret to marketing success lies in understanding human beings. People are complex creatures that are often compelled to believe they are ruled by their minds, logic and reason. To an extent, this is true. People, however, are also highly motivated by influences that are much less black and white in nature. They will purchase products and take particular actions if they are appealed to on an emotional or want-based level. Tap into both areas with a marketing campaign and the results can stagger.
Learning how to successfully market in a manner that falls outside the traditional box is not necessarily easy. There are ways to learn the ropes and gain insight from those who have mastered the art of making a decent product one that people will not pass by.
If you are ready to change your marketing approach and take campaigns beyond expectations, human nature and the forces that influence it should be your focus of study.
New Release – Splash Launch Pad
by Toolman on May.24, 2009, under Program Launch
A “coming soon” web page in truth has only one place – as a home page while you’re designing a marketing campaign with the single purpose of developing anticipation of an impending rollout and you are gathering e-mail addresses for notification.
There are a lot of advantages to sporting the proper “coming soon page”, the basic reason is for their SE friendliness. As a domain’s age is among numerous factors Google applies in its algorithmic rule*, a coming soon page is an effective method to brand your presence ahead of time, while you’re working your web site on the backend. It also looks better and more professional than the ‘normal’ cookie cutting holding page.
